Services & Fees
Midwifery Services:Midwifery Services include monthly visits throughout your pregnancy until you reach 36 weeks at which time we we will meet every 2 weeks until you reach 40 weeks. At that time we will meet weekly until you give birth, keeping close contact by phone. During your visits, we spend a lot of time on nutrition, the process of labor/birth, possible complications and informed consent/decision-making. We will talk about your desires for your pregnancy and birth. Your visits will include but not be limited to: listening to your baby's heart rate, measuring fundal height, assessing the baby's position through abdominal palpation, checking your blood pressure, doing a urine check via dipstick, a hemoglobin check once in early pregnancy and again at 36 weeks. We will also develop a bond of trust which will be an essential component of your care. We will work on a birth plan for your home birth and an alternate plan should the need to transfer your care to a physician/hospital arise. Prenatal care is what you do for yourself inbetween visits to your doctor or midwife. We will cover the material that is typically covered in most childbirth classes and a whole lot more! We will stay with you throughout your labor and birth and at least 3 hours afterwards. We will provide postpartum visits on day 1 and approximately day 5, a visit by phone at approximately 2 weeks and a visit in my home office at 6 weeks. Fee: $2200.00 This covers 2 midwives in attendance at your birth.Birth Doula Services:I provide 2 prenatal visits which last from 1-2 hours each, additional visits if requested. Unlimited support by phone and/or email during the prenatal period and two weeks postpartum including lactation counseling. Additional lactation counseling available on a fee per visit basis. I am very committed to breastfeeding as the best thing for you and your baby, so it is a passion of mine to help you succeed with your breastfeeding relationship. Once labor has started, I will join you either at your home, or your birth facility, whichever you prefer. I will provide continuous physical and emotional support and educational information for both you and your partner. That includes but is not limited to suggestions for position changes, massage, aromatherapy and emotional affirmations. I will remind both yourself and your partner to stay hydrated, nourished and foster communication between you and the medical staff. I also take photos and provide you with a CD of all photos taken. |
